Society of St. Vincent de Paul

"Welcome to our parish conference of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul at Our Lady of the Scapular. We are a grassroots community of volunteers dedicated to turning faith and compassion into concrete action. Through our emergency food service, home visits, Christmas programs and other supports, we strive to offer personalized, non-judgmental help and genuine friendship to anyone in our community who is struggling."

Our Mission

The mission of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP) is to live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice and joy.  It was founded in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam to help the  poor in Paris, France.  The first Canadian Conference was established in Quebec in 1846.

Now there are conferences across Canada and internationally in 130 countries.  Our conference of Vincentians is very dedicated and hard-working, doing  tremendous work supporting those who come to us in need. We meet in the parish hall on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 pm and welcome new members.  For more information, please contact us by clicking below. We look forward to hearing from you!
